It's been a fantastic year at Blis and the last week has been no exception. This past weekend we saw huge traffic to the Carols in the Domain website as the broadcast went to air at 8:30pm. Thanks to the brilliant servers and staff at AussieHQ for keeping the whole site zipping along at top speed even when we were seeing hundreds of users hitting the site each second!

We've also been lucky enough to launch the first official website for YouTube sensations; The Encyclopedia of Magic. These guys have had a huge week and we look forward to supporting them into 2012 with the continued expansion of their new website. They join Daniel Jordan Homes, Nelson and Co, This City of Adelaide, Adelaide City Council and SIFE in our launch list for the past 7 days!

This year has marked a transition for us in terms of the scale of sites we've been building. For the past couple of years Blis has been working with industry leading CMS software platforms, ExpressionEngine and Magento. As a result, our expertise in this area has been actively sought after. This has led to the launch of sites for Henschke Wines, Adelaide City Council, Regional Development Australia (SA Gov) and Master Chef finalist Michael Weldon.

Demand for e-commerce sites continue to grow with many successful new online businesses launched this year.  Some of our favourite sites include Sant & Abel (quality, cute and colourful boxer shorts for all), Minibots Designer Children's Clothing, development of the Suede Online fashion store (in conjunction with So So Creative Design) , of course Henschke wines - now selling online and direct to the public, and a huge website makeover of award winning winery Artwine.  Special mention to Annelies Roe, of Anna Roe and Co who has managed to take her site sales past the six figure mark just prior to the December Christmas frenzy.

Another significant event for us this year was the first "refresh" of our own website since it was originally launched. This was coupled with an expansion of our Social Media channels on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Tumblr. With the importance of social media increasing for our clients, this year also saw us add a dedicated online marketing specialist to our team to help our clients take advantage of these marketing opportunities.

Obviously none of the above would be possible without acknowledging a few people; in particular our families. The job of a website developer isn't without it's demands and we truly appreciate all of their patience during these times. We would also like to thank Jeff for all of his hard work this year. Jeff moved on to be full time with us this year and his contribution to Blis has been invaluable.

Going into the Christmas break, we're  pleased to (re)announce that we've increased our support options to help you have peace of mind over the holiday period and onwards into the new year. We've outlined these new plans in a new section of our website: The Knowledge Base. We've set this area up to compliment this blog and serve as a resource for our clients to help them plan and manage their online business. We'll be continuing to expand upon this into 2012, so please bear with us as we get more information into this area.

Finally, we'd like to thank some of our most recent clients for signing up with us; Blue Dolphin, Terrace Floors, Financial Boost,  Messenger Press, Tool Procure and I Do Real Estate. We look forward to launching your sites early in the new year!
